## What is ReviewsDue?

Designed from scratch and being improved continuously over time, *ReviewsDue* is a new website for managing the entire workflow in academic conferences: setting up a conference, submitting papers, checking conflicts of interest, assigning reviews automatically, making acceptance decisions, and organizing technical sessions in the conference program.

## Confidentiality

ReviewsDue stores who reviewed which paper only in encrypted form, under a key held for each conference. This covers reviews, area chair reviews, and meta-reviews.

* The ReviewsDue server uses this key to run the conference, so this is not end-to-end encryption. Chairs and committee members see who reviewed what only where their role allows it. See [Anonymity](https://reviewsdue.com/docs/reviewers/anonymity.md#what-reviewsdue-stores).
* The matching service that computes assignments never holds the key.
* Text that people write themselves, such as review answers and tags, is not covered.
